It’s that time of year again…when the county sends us all the latest appraised values of our properties. Property values are going up each year all around Austin, which is both good and bad. Higher appraised value means homes in the Austin area are worth more! It also means paying higher property taxes; however, you have some control over your property taxes.
Each year you are able to protest your appraised value, and the first step is to show the county comparable homes that are appraised at a lesser value.
