Northwood Neighborhood: Northwood is a neighborhood of about 600 homes in Northwest Austin that was built between 1974 and 1984. It is in the city of Austin and Austin School District. There are several smaller developments near Northwood including McNeil Estates, the Reserve at Northwood and the largest being Preston Oaks with its 180 homes. Northwood sits just across Parmer Lane from the largest subdivision in Northwest Austin, Milwood, made up of 1000s of homes.

Northwood Homes: The homes in Northwood range in size from 1300 to 2500 square feet. Preston Oaks was built after Northwood between 1997 and 1999 and its homes are approximately 1500 to 2700 square feet. The latest development to be built near Northwood is the Reserve at Northwood which was built in 2005 and 2006 with homes of 1600 to 3200 square feet.
Northwood Amenities: Nearby Northwood is the 51 acre Balcones District Park with a basketball and volleyball court, playscape, picnic tables, barbeque pits, Balcones Pool and hiking trail with a Walnut Creek waterfall! Just across Parmer Lane is the Milwood Branch of the Austin Public Library. Besides library material it also offers free meeting space for the neighborhood. For neighborhood youth the Balcones Youth Sports baseball and softball fields are less than a mile away.
Northwood Location: One of the greatest assets of Northwood is its proximity to Major employers, roads, restaurants, shopping and entertainment. Situated very close to Parmer Lane and Mopac, getting anywhere East/West or North/South is easy.
Northwood is located in the heart of the tech-corridor. It is surrounded by some of the biggest office parks in the city with major employers like Apple, Oracle, Accenture, Flextronics, Charles Schwab, Paypal and State Farm employing thousands.
